Harting

Noted technological Interconnection innovator and manufacturer HARTING, contacted JB Interiors with an exciting project: the complete refurbishment of the production facility and shop floor at their Northampton site. From the ground floor up, the whole space was to be brought up-to-date with major changes to the work-spaces, offices, restrooms, canteen and general interiors. Our first goal, was to bring together all ideas & suggestions, forming them into a slick, contemporary look that still had optimum functionality.

After site visits and discussions with HARTING, a visual realisation was constructed to show exactly what the vision would look like. Extensive drawings and 2D & 3D renders ensured that each step of the process could be smoothly executed with a minimum of disruption to the vibrant, working environment of the company.

This varied remit was split into various separate phases:

Production / Manufacturing Area

Phase One encompassed the removal of existing structures and the task of making the area safe as we systematically built the new offices and washroom & shower facilities.

Then, onto Phase Two, and JB Commercial Interiors were tasked with creating a Halo style structure above the said offices and washrooms used to support lighting, ventilation and communication safely. Detailed planning and logistics were undertaken by both the JB Commercial Interiors on-site team and their dedicated office colleagues; the subsequent work was not only functional and contemporary, but also stylish, befitting a client who are on the cutting edge of innovation.

Phase Three:

HARTING needed a customer-facing reception area that would have the “wow” impact on visitors. A mixture of classic, minimalist style and a carefully thought out colour scheme that matched the HARTING branding was agreed on and put into place in the final weeks of the assignment.

Phase Four:

Phase Four saw the completion of all of the main offices and their connection to the various utilities, while staff leisure / canteen areas were created within the space.

Phase Five:

The design and construction of new office layout and meeting areas using glass and steel to achieve a contemporary look.

What we pride ourselves on in JB Commercial Interiors is the ability to overcome potentially problematic hurdles.The HARTING project required clear and logical delineation of the work for the client’s peace of mind and detailed, realistic renders to bring the vision to life. While working witha specific budget, we had to make each part of the project on-price without ever lettingthe aesthetic qualities lack.

There were exacting building regulations to be considered during every step of the way and JB Commercial Interiors worked closely with the authorities to guarantee that these were fulfilled while the client’s ideas were never threatened. We even needed to design and create our own structure for the main office as no off-the-shelf structure systemexisted; the crisp steel and glass look requested by HARTING was realised thanks to continued communication and a touch of JB Commercial Interiors innovation.

Citadel Risk

JB Commercial Group were approached by Citadel Risk Services UK to provide a quotation for supply and fit of new office partitioning into their London Bevis Marks offices. Citadel Risk offer a range of products and services in both the live back office and legacy market sectors and are a very well respected company within the industry.

The client wanted to create two new office spaces and a meeting room  out of their existing space. The job involved modern looking glass partitioning inclusive of internal privacy blinds and glass doors. Certain elements of the storage wall needed to be reconfigured  as part of the project. With the introduction of new offices JB Commercial were required to make adjustments to the air handling system to provide suitable ventilation and comply with current regulations.

JB Commercial Interiors provided a competitive quotation and were able to work within the clients desired time-frame making the choice for Citadel Risk Services an easy one. JB Commercial Interiors were delighted to be appointed as contractors for this fit-out project. Following the successful conclusion of this initial project, the client asked us to provide a proposal for a new kitchenette area in their offices. JB Commercial Interiors were happy to undertake these extra works and put in new partitions, carefully matching the colour of the new framework to existing. After installation of appliances and final sign-off of the client JB were pleased to leave the Citadel Risk extremely satisfied with their new additions and look forward to be being involved in more exciting projects with them in the future.

Bush & Company are the largest and fastest growing provider of expert witness, immediate needs assessment and case management services in the UK. Established since 1986 and headquartered in Daventry, Northants – Bush & Co have regularly turned to JB Commercial Interiors for professional advice and work on their office building. From major renovation to the installation of LED lighting, desks, and blinds; JB Commercial Interiors have worked to get exactly what our client wants and when they need it.

Our most recent project was the most exciting and yet challenging or all; a complete refurbishment of the interior of the building. JB Commercial Interiors communicated with the client every step of the way and before long a movable wall was installed, rooms, offices and break-out areas were re-configured and everything was freshly decorated to achieve the updated look that Bush & Co deserved. New flooring with accent colours to match Bush & Co’s corporate theme provided the offices with a really fresh and vibrant look.

JB Commercial Interiors have found through our professional experience that, just as a face represents a person, the reception area represents an office or a business. Just as we form an opinion by looking at the person (usually the face), most visitors similarly form an opinion about the business and its success by looking at the reception area. With this in mind JB Commercial Interiors were keen to ensure that this area was given special attention. Existing seating was replaced, office reception counters and desks were upgraded. Along with this, carpet tiles were used to great effect to create a pattern representative of the Bush & Co logo.

As blinds were fitted, and decoration was completed the JB Commercial Interiors team were satisfied that the reception area truly was representative of this noted company.

To complete the works JB Commercial Interiors replaced the existing kitchen with a deluxe look kitchen. Also, new high quality work desks were put into place. At the end of December 2016, the job was completed and our client Bush & Co were ready to populate these plush new surroundings.

London Wellness Centre

The well-reviewed and highly regarded London Wellness Centre, approached JB Commercial’s on-site Project Manager whilst we were working in an adjacent property to inspect the works. Being very impressed by the high quality of the work and the professionalism of the site staff, JB Commercial were asked to visit the Canary Wharf site of London Wellness Centre to provide a proposal on a forthcoming project.
This prestigious collection of private practices housed within one large, grade I listed unit in the city’s Docklands, was a project that was of great interest to JB Commercial’s team of experts!

Being a grade 1 listed building posed many challenges to JB Commercial Group as there were several parties who had a vested interest in the building.  This meant permissions had to be obtained before any works could be carried out. After agreeing both the scope of works, timeline and a price, the final contract was awarded to JB Commercial Interiors to undertake a fit-out at London Wellness Centre. Whilst delighted to be chosen to handle the project it presented new challenges to our interiors team. The task of re-configuring the internal space, creating new treatment areas and building a new kitchenette was made that bit more complicated by the listed status of the building. From the first minute to the last, our team was in direct communication with the client & the building manager to ensure that all of the work was carried out exactly as requested without compromising the classic structure of the environment.

A specially made partition system was designed then built and shipped from Italy. This system offered a high-class look in gloss white creating the medicinal look the client desired. It also had to meet CQC requirements. Stylish pocket doors were installed allowing space to be maximised to the full, updated treatment areas, refreshed bathrooms and high class kithcenettes created within London Wellness Centre and everything was finished off with a touch of urban style befitting a high-end London establishment. When the interiors arm of JB concluded their extensive work, the project was finished with six of our stylish Poppy chairs for the reception area and London Wellness Centre was quickly accessible to practitioners and clients alike.

The client were extremely pleased with the final result and have since recalled JB Commercial on two more occasions to carry out further smaller works.

Peace Hospice

JB Commercial Group were approached by Peace Hospice Care to provide a quotation for some major refurbishment works at their Watford hospice and administrative centre. The Peace Hospice building was originally built in the 1920’s for war veterans but by the late 1990’s was in use as a hospice serving patients with life limiting conditions. The building is a well recognised landmark in Watford and locals are very familiar with the work of this much-loved charity.

The client sent us a brief and asked us to undertake a site visit to confirm works required on this major interiors project. After an exhaustive site inspection during which several amendments were made, our Project Consultants set about providing a competitive quotation, conscious of the fact that the client are a charity and need to justify every penny to the board of trustees. The end result was to create a hotel environment whilst maintaining high clinical standards.

After several weeks of discussions to finalise the project with both the client, and the interior designer the client had chosen to remodel, JB Commercial were delighted to be appointed primary contractors for the works. A full schedule was agreed ensuring that patient disruption was kept to a minimum during this period. A Gantt chart formulated and shared by both organisations to help all involved keep a track of undertakings. A dedicated Project Manager was put into position by JB Commercial as well as a Site Manager thus enabling the Facilities Manager at Peace Hospice to have constant contact with the JB team should any questions arise.

The final project took a total of eight weeks and was completed on schedule to the delight of all at the Peace Hospice. JB Commercial were pleased to have undertaken the following works during this project:

En-suite wet rooms created in each bathroom. This included cladding all bathroom walls in hygienic material suitable for such environments.

  • All new DDA compliant sanitary ware – rails, shower seats etc.
  • Hand-wash stations installed into patient rooms.
  • New flooring throughout.
  • Scald-safe thermostatic showers,
  • Electrical works including data, lighting and power.
  • Refurbishment of fitted furniture and headboards within patient rooms
  • Skirting throughout.
  • kitchenettes into staff area.
  • Convert existing staff canteen into new offices.
  • Hallway windows.
  • New PVC doors to exterior store.
  • Electrical upgrade throughout.
  • Decorate throughout.
  • Furniture Supply.

The feedback received from Peace Hospices Debbie Leven as seen in the local newspaper was as below:
We went through a full tendering process to ensure that the designer and building contractor selected adhered to our stringent requirements and provided good value for money. Their work has been of the highest quality and met our demanding timeframe and has been sensitive to our needs and the needs of patients and families.”

JB Commercial Interiors were very proud to have undertaken this project and pleased to leave the Hospice with both the clients and patients extremely satisfied with their new look and upgraded facilities. We look forward to be being involved in more projects with them in the future and have already been asked to submit a new proposal for further works. We sincerely hope that the works we have completed have made a difference to those patients with life limiting illnesses.

Their dedication to improvement and precision is reflected in their premises.  As such they have particularly high standards.  For over a decade, JB Commercial Group have had the privilege of working with JEOL (UK) to provide them with a modern working environment which reflects their core values.  Our works have included office design and installation of partitioning, high quality desks, seating, storage  and meeting tables – in fact everything required to run a successful office.

The JB Interiors arm of our company have provided complete fit-outs of virtually all areas of the building including the offices, reception, warehouse and other areas of the main building. Alongside this we’ve also created and fitted bespoke  internal and external signage and lighting.

The washrooms were totally gutted and refitted with high end wall coverings, and sanitary ware including state of the art hand wash and drying equipment.

The goods-in / warehouse area of the premises were recently reconstructed to better suit the needs of JEOL (UK) by creating better use of space. This involved demolition and reconstruction of walls, as well as re-configuring lighting and access.

A fundamental concern of the client was to carry out the work whilst creating as little disruption as possible to the vibrant creative environment. After extensive communication with the client, the partition walls were built while the office around continued their work. The completed work enabled Triad Ltd to approach its fourth decade of existence with even greater ambition.
